Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. Browser local storage is a related technology that lets a site save small preferences inside your browser. This page explains what this website actually uses.

Until you answer the cookie banner, this website loads nothing for advertising or analytics and sets no cookies of its own. To remember your choices it uses your browser’s local storage (not cookies) for three values: your answer to the cookie banner, your language preference (English or Arabic), and your theme preference (dark or light mode). These values stay in your browser and are not transmitted to us. If you accept, the website also loads the Google tags described in section 4.

The only HTTP cookies that may be set are those placed by our content delivery and security provider, Cloudflare, to keep the website secure and deliver it reliably. They are strictly necessary and are not used to track you across websites.

We advertise Laika on Google, and we measure how this website is used. If, and only if, you press Accept on the cookie banner, this website loads Google’s tag (gtag.js) from googletagmanager.com for two purposes: Google Ads, which tells Google when a visit that began with one of our ads reached this website, and Google Analytics, which tells us which pages are read and when someone opens our booking page. The Google Ads cookies (the _gcl family) last up to ninety days; the Google Analytics cookies (_ga and _ga_1QZ6QYDJCG) last up to two years and are renewed at each visit. If you accept, Google may also use this data to build remarketing audiences, so that our ads can be shown again to people who have already visited this website. Neither tag is present inside the Laika platform. Until you accept, nothing is requested; if you decline, nothing is loaded. Google processes this data under its own privacy policy and may do so outside Saudi Arabia.
